Balance and Gait Training

Balance and gait training, the intricate movements involved in walking, rely on proper functioning from various body areas, including the ears, eyes, brain, and muscles. Issues with any of these areas can lead to walking difficulties, falls, or injuries. Balance disorders occur when the systems responsible for our sense of balance malfunction, causing sensations of unsteadiness, spinning, floating, or movement when the body is still. In older adults, balance disorders can result in dangerous falls and may be caused by ear infections, head injuries, circulation disorders, or arthritis, among other factors.

Balance and Gait Physical Therapy Training Center

At Health Plus Physical Therapy Center, our professionals specialize in balance and gait training to help restore a sense of balance, improve muscle strength and function. Your dedicated physical therapist and certified Pilates instructor will create a Personalized Recovery Plan featuring Vestibular Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT), a specialized form of physical therapy that uses tailored exercises to enhance gait and gaze stability. VRT has proven highly effective for patients with vestibular or central balance system disorders, outperforming traditional exercises in numerous studies.

Upon completion of your program, you’ll receive a personal Health Plus Maintenance Package to support you in maintaining the results achieved during therapy. Health Plus is committed to supporting you every step of the way towards improved balance and mobility.
